I just love preparation days. I hope everyone had a good week. Our week here in Linz was really great. Heavenly Father is just so cool. I am amazed at His tender mercies and His love for His children. To start off with the Ameh Family is still doing great. We met with them and were able to talk about the Priesthood and Temples. Wow. There are not many things greater than telling a family that they can be together forever. Sister Jaynes has no problem bearing testimony about the temple and the plan of salvation because they are so dear to my heart. As I bore testimony, I could not help but think of my cutie family. I am grateful for the plan God has provided so that we can enjoy His blessings with our family. So great. I almost started to cry as I pictured this beautiful family dressed in white in the temple. I am not sure when that will happen, but it will happen! I am so grateful for the temple of the Lord. What a blessing and evidence that God has restored His church and His authority on the earth once again.
This week we have seen several small miracles. From appointments falling into place to other appointments falling out so we could go visit less actives or members who needed our visits, God truly guided our footsteps this last week.
Well yesterday was probably one of my favorite days on my mission so far. Yesterday, Melanie came to church for the first time! We talked on Saturday and she said that she wanted to come. She was asking what she should wear and was so cute about it! We are singing in the choir so I told her that we would already be at church. Church starts at 9:30 and little cutie Melanie shows up at 9:05. haha So early! It was so crazy because it was the first time she came to church but it just felt so normal with her there. It just felt right. As I sat there in sacrament meeting with Melanie there was just such a deep feeling of gratitude in my heart. The ward welcomed Melanie and she had a really good time. After church she looks at me and says "I want to come every Sunday!" Whaaaat?
Here is a young 24 year old, living in Linz, Austria. She has not been going to any church her entire life. Prayer was a new thing to her. She had no idea the happiness she was missing. Now she wants to come to church every Sunday. She told me that now she cannot sleep without praying. She is reading in the Book of Mormon. She is experiencing the true Joy that comes from coming closer to Jesus Christ, her Savior. I truly feel so honored to have a front row seat of this miracle. It was actually so funny. She was telling her friends that she was going to church on Sunday and they all asked her what she had done...like what sin had she done that she needed to go to church. haha She explained that no she just wanted to go to church. This concept was so foreign and is so foreign to so many people here in Austria. Don't worry though, we are working on it, one person, one miracle like Melanie at a time.
I love our Heavenly Father and His ability to offer us lasting happiness. He knows what we need. He knows what people we need in our lives to help us return to live with Him. God is a God of miracles. He is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. We just have to have the faith that He will work miracles in our life and in the lives around us. He lives and loves us.
Be happy and don't do anything I wouldn't do! :)
XOXOXOOXOXOX
Schwester Jaynes
