Miraclessss

I think one word really describes the Work of Salvation...okay maybe two: Love and Miracles. I hope everyone is doing well this week. My mind is blown to know that it is almost October. Well one experience this week was really heart-wrenching. On Friday morning, we had about an hour. That morning during study, I had thought of the Ameh Family. I had the thought that we should go visit them. On a normal Friday morning, Hannahlore was either at work or at home...with the kids at school and clement at work. So I tried calling them. No answer. I told Sister Wunderli that we should just go by. We went and Hannahlore was home and welcomed us in. We have never had just a lesson with Hannahlore. We sat in her little kitchen and had a really good conversation and the spirit was so strong. I completely opened my heart and my feelings. Hannahlore did as well. She was so sweet and said that she thought of us often. She said she also was struggling to believe. She said she is just too comfortable and there are just a lot of new things she needs to study and pray about. Although this story does not end in a huge miracle, I will just never forget sitting in that kitchen bearing testimony. The Ameh family may not be quite ready to accept the restore gospel today or tomorrow, but I know that one day in this life or the next they will. I really have come to love this family. i am grateful for the chance to introduce them and to strengthen their faith in our Savior. Keep them in your prayers. As the Ameh family was in my thoughts and everything I read a talk about Humility and it fit perfectly. "Humility recognizes that no one can change someone else, but with faith, effort, and the help of God, we can undergo our own mighty change of heart. As i have had various experiences on my mission I truly have seen this take place in my life.
The next lesson I learned this week is really that God has prepared people to hear and accept His Gospel. We had a wonderful lesson with Melanie at the Wagner's home this last week. We wanted to watch the Restoration DVD. We did just that. At the end of the video, I just asked Melanie what she was feeling. Her answer was truly a miracle. Melanie began to explain with tears in her eyes how one night, she decided to "try out" the promise in the Book of Mormon and ask God if this was the right thing for her. As a daughter of God knelt down for perhaps the first time in her life, before she could even begin to speak words, she was overcome with the Spirit and she said she just cried and cried. She said she had never felt  that way in her life. She knew that this was the right path for her. She began to explain that she hasnt read the Bible, she doesnt understand everything in the Book of Mormon, but that she simply feels that it is right for her. Through the power of prayer she received a powerful witness. We obviously talked about baptism and she wants to get baptized. There is no date or anything, but she definitely is working towards it. The only issue was baptism by immersion...hahah she said she would fore sure have to plug her nose.
I am so grateful for the Lord's hand in this work. To see Him work in the lives of these people is amazing. The Lord truly is a God of miracles. Melanie was able to find her own sacred grove in her room that night. Through a sincere prayer, real intent, and faith, Heavenly Father continues to work miracles here in Linz. As I sat there with Melanie hearing her story I could not help but still think of the poem about two friends....i know it is just a story, but it feels real with Melanie and I....
"I was thinking about our friendship and these are my feelings: In Heaven we were the best of friends. We did everything together. One day, a grand council was called in Heaven. We knew it was an important event. Everyone was there - Moses, Noah, and Jesus Christ. Father presented a plan, and we voted for Christ to be our Savior. After the council, we ran to get in line to receive our life package. In the bustle, we were separated. I received my package and ran to find you. You were sitting under a tree. We opened our packages, mine said that I would be born at a time when the gospel was Restored to the earth. It said that I would have good parets, and that the fullness of the gospel would be in my home. I jumped for joy and we hugged each other. You were happy for me. Then you read yours. I saw the tears in your eyes and I asked what was wrong? You said that you would also be born when the gospel was restored, but you would be born in a different place, and the gospel would not be in your home. You looked me straight int he eye and said: Friend, find me! No matter what it takes or the trials you have to endure, find me and bring me the Gospel of Jesus Christ."
I love our Savior and am grateful for the blessings I have received through His Gospel. I am grateful that I can find my friends and remind them of what they already knew and loved. Life is good. His plan is perfect!
Ich liebe euch!
XOXOXO
