His Vision for Us

Servus!!! I hope everyone is doing well! Munich is white and snowy today! There are not icicles on my companions eyelashes...so Elder Jaynes does have me beat! But you know what they say Elder Jaynes..."Many are COLD, but few are FROZEN!" haha You are an example to us all! This last week was really good. It flew by. Weeks really do feel like days now. Crazy. This last week I had a few "Aha" moments. You know those moments when you finally understand something or recognize something. Well this last week, I was talking to this giant-of-a-man in a train. He was SO tall. He ended up knowing and liking BYU basketball which was really cool (Go Cougs). He knew about Mormons but nothing about our beliefs. Well the "Aha" moment happened when we talked about his beliefs. He began to explain to me that he was catholic, but not active. He said he believed in a higher power but was not sure what to believe. Well at one point in the conversation I said something about us both being Christian. This man looked at me and said "No...i am catholic". After a few moments of helping this man realize he too, should consider himself christian, it dawned on me. The world today is so confused. The very pure and simple doctrine Jesus Christ taught as well as prophets has truly been changed and/or forgotten. As disciples of Jesus Christ, we have taken His name on us, and are supposed to help others around us come closer to our Savior. I am so grateful for the relationship I have with our older Brother and Redeemer, Jesus Christ. Being able to wear His name over my heart daily never gets old. Helping others come closer to Jesus Christ in this life is why we are here. Whether it be ourselves, our family, children, or friends, we have a duty to share our knowledge and hope of the Savior with those who have not yet found Him. Nothing is sweeter than seeing someone have one of those "Aha" moments while coming closer to Christ.
I also heard of a really neat aspect this last week. In 1 Nephi 10:17. Here is Nephi, he just heard everything his father Lehi had seen in a vision.. " 17 And it came to pass after I, Nephi, having heard all the words of my father, concerning the things which he saw in a vision, and also the things which he spake by the power of the Holy Ghost, which power he received by faith on the Son of God—and the Son of God was the Messiah who should come—I, Nephi, was desirous also that I might see, and hear, and know of these things, by the power of the Holy Ghost, which is the gift of God unto all those who diligently seek him, as well in times of old as in the time that he should manifest himself unto the children of men." We believe that God is our Heavenly Father and that He has a plan for us, He has a VISION for us. Like Nephi...we need to ask our Father in Heaven to understand the vision He has for us. What would the Savior tell you if you had a few minutes with Him to talk? I am grateful that this experience is not impossible. Better yet , He is waiting for us to ask. We can ask to better understand His plan and vision for us. We all need to take a step back sometimes and spend some time with our Savior. He knows us and sees the beginning and the end. He understands us. He loves us. When one has a vision in life, whether it be regarding schooling, career, family life, etc. motivation and determination to reach that vision is automatically cultivated. This drive to accomplish and live up that vision is not only necessary but required in God's plan for us. Life is hard. But His Vision for us makes the hard times a little bit more doable. I am grateful for the vision God has for His children and for me personally. He is our number one fan. He is with us and will be there to carry us when we cannot go any farther. Let us all catch the vision our Father in Heaven has for us and help others do the same!

Ich liebe euch!!
XOXOXOXOXOXOX

18. Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he. :)
