Tender Mercies of the Lord

Guten Tag!
This week has been really great! We were busy with appoinments all week. We had a finding day in Graz where all the missionaries in our district come to Graz and we find new potential investigators or go by on prior investigators or less actives. Well we sent one set of Elders to go by on one of our former investigators. They went to the wrong building (the one right next to the right building) and rang the doorbell. This is the part where I would say there is no such thing as mistakes in missionary work because the Lord has a reason for everthing. The woman who answered the door was named Juliette. She is from Nigeria (potential wife of Raymond or Charles...just call me matchmaker michelle) haha and was open to hear more about the Gospel so they got her phone number to give to us. Well we called and met Juliette on Saturday. She and her Nigerian friend named Endurance were at the apartment. They both were excited to hold the Book of Mormon. Seeing them flip through the pages of the Book of Mormon for the first time was beautiful. Little did they know how much that Book changes lives. So cool.  We gave them an overview of the Gospel and explained our roles as missionaries. We bore testimony and talked about their religious backgrounds. They both love the Savior and want to follow Him. (Golden Investigators!) We then committed them to being baptized when they knew for themselves these things were true....and they said YES! It was so cool. We invited them to church the next day. Despite all the snow, they made it to church! Neither of them spoke German and usually attend an african church that speak English. I was so worried that they would be confused and not have the full experience because of the language barrier.
As I sat there in Relief Society next to Juliette, I was just praying to Heavenly Father that Juliette would feel something, that she would feel Gods love and spirit. Literally 2 mintues later, Juliette leaned over to me and whispered "I like it here!" I wanted to cry. The Lord is so kind. This tender mercy was perfect. The Lord hears and answers our prayers. He knows what we need and when we need them. It was cool to see that the Spirit did not have any language barrier with Juliette. She felt something at church. She felt the Spirit. This lesson I have seen time and time again on my mission. Through my broken German, the Spirit works in the hearts of the people. When I dont understand a lot of the German said to me, the Lord helps me understand enough.

Scripture of the week: John 15:13-15
13: Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends
14. Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.
15. Henceforth, I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his Lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.

Jesus Christ really is our friend. He is the best friend we could ever ask for and aspire to become like.
I am grateful for His friendship and the ability to tell the Austrian people about our Savior Jesus Christ.
He has promised us everthing the Father has if we just obey Him.

Shout out to Elder Jaynes...1 week down brother...104 weeks left to change your life and the life of others. So excited for you! :)

Ich liebe euch!!!
