Christmas in the MTC

Frohliche Weinachten!!!!!!!
I hope everyone is having a Very MERRY Christmas!
What a blessing it is to have this time of year to celebrate His Birth and Life.
Christmas Eve and Christmas Day so far have been wonderful!
The Apostle that shared Christmas with us today was..... Elder Nelson!!!!!!!
What an amazing experience it was!
Just like Elder Holland at Thanksgiving...the Spirit quickly confirmed that Elder Nelson is an Apostle of the Lord as soon as he came into the room.
His love, wisdom, and testimony uplifted us! He is a special witness of Jesus Christ and you can see and feel that from him.
I was thinking how wonderful Christmas is - of the magic of Christmas.
I think how anyone religious usually at least tries to make it to church around Christmas - even if it is the only time of the year they go.
I think of why they go to church - so they can remember Jesus Christ and be close to Him during this time of year.
I then instantly think of how blessed we are as members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
That we do not need a holiday to come close to Him.
That with the restoration of the gospel - we are able to come close to the Savior everyday if allow ourselves to.
I think of what an integral part the Atonement and the Gospel play in my life.
Of the beauty and peace that the Savior truly brought into my life through His perfect Sacrifice.
I love our Savior. I love that whenever we have a question, need forgiveness, or simply know that God is near that we can pray to the almighty God.
What a beautiful time of year.
One topic that either Sister Nelson or Elder Nelson was that some of the greatest gifts available to us are the Gifts of the Spirit.
Through the Gift of the Holy Ghost we can obtain other gifts.
I love studying about these gifts.
You can learn/read more about these gifts in 1 Cor 12&14, Moroni 10, and D&C 46.
The Gifts we should seek should be ones that counteract our weaknesses. I think this concept is really cool!
From the Gift of Patience to the Gift of Mildness - every Christlike attribute is attainable with the Power of the Holy Ghost and the cleansing power of the Atonement.
Heavenly Father has made this Perfect Plan for us and has given us the necessary principles and aids in order for us to return to Him.
Being in the MTC for Halloween, Thanksgiving, and now Christmas has been wonderful.
The experiences that I have had daily here have already blessed my life so much.
As the days go on though - I think of how these changes and experiences can occur everyday if we chose to have them.
I love our Savior. He was born in a manager, He lived a perfect life, He performed the perfect Atonement, and now He lives.
He loves us and has set the perfect example to each of us.
Although Christmas brings His birth to our remembrance in particular, I hope that we can seek him daily.
We can live our lives in such a way that His Spirit can teach us.
Through the power of His Atonement - we can become as He is.
I love the quote that "Wise Men Still Seek Him"
Let us Seek Him in all that we do.
I hope each of you have a VERY Merry Christmas!
XoXo
