Letter 4

Oh meine Gute!!!!!
(Oh my goodness)
That is the phrase that doesn't cease to come out of my mouth.
I may say it with a little attitude sometimes...but none the less, I say it frequently!
I am HALF-WAY done with my time here at the MTC.(oh meine Gute)
I am absolutely loving it here.
I don't think I ever want to leave..............ha!
I hope everyone's Thanksgiving was great!
Guess who I spean mine with....?
ELDER HOLLAND!!!!!!!!!!
AHhhh SO great!
He and his wife came and "adopted" us for the day.
It was honestly amazing.
Most of their family came and put on an entire program for us.
There were a few little cutie grandchildren that sang and bore testimony which was fun.
Lets just say that the Jaynes Family Thanksgiving Talent Show has got quite the competition from the Hollands. haha
No, but really the Spirit was so strong. Elder Holland is an Apostel of the Lord.
To end the program, Elder Holland Spoke. He spoke with Love, Concern, and Power.
It was SO neat to hear what an Apostel was grateful for....
Elder Holland's Gratitude List:
1) Grateful to born in this Last, Great Dispensation
2) Grateful for the Prophet Jospeh Smith
3) Grateful that God Knows Us Peronally
4) Grateful to be Carried by the Savior
I wish I could have written down every word he said.
I find it so interesting the list he is grateful for.
The two I want to focus on today is #1 and #4.
Elder Holland said he was grateful to be born and to live today. It is a gift to be born when the Gospel is on the Earth and that we were born into it or have found it.
Either way - we have the Gospel in our lives. It is the best blessing. Not only do we have the Gospel - but it is thriving. Every prophet in the Book of Mormon saw our day. (Mormon 8) They knew that the people in their day would fall short, but they saw our day and saw that the Lord would win. The Savior is going to return to the Earth and the Restored Gosepl will never be taken off of the Earth again.  We are so blessed to be living today...Elder Holland said that even He does not fully comprehend what a blessing it is to be living in today's world. The Church doesn't need more members...but the people need the Church. So great.
The concluding remarks included the concept of Elder Holland being grateful for the Savior carring him.
Read D&C 133:44-53.
Verse 53. I love it.
Christ will carry us if we come unto Him.
It is though Him that I find strength to continue to learn German.
It is though the Savior I can return to our loving Heavenly Parents.
It is through Chirst that we can be happy in this life.
I'm grateful for Elder Holland.
I'm grateful to be a missioanry.
Elder Holland said:
"I am Grateful for the Love of the Lord that he let a Perfect Son suffer for imperfect people."
Life is oh so good.
Be happy!
It is a choice to be happy!
One of my new favorite quotes is:
"I believe in Christ like I believe in the sun. Not because I can see it, but by it I can see everything else."
This is His work.
I love you all!
XoXo
