Letter #2

Guten Tag!!!! Wie gehts?!!!! (Good day! Whats up?!)

How are my favorite people doing? Can you believe I have been here for 2 weeks tomorrow? Craziness. I wanted to start out with a scripture.

3 Nephi 5:13
"Behold, I am a disciple of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. I have been called of him to declare his word among his people, that they might have everlating life."

How COOL is that? Wow. Everyday here at the MTC feels like a dream. Not like I'm-sitting-on-a-beach-sipping-a-pina-colada-kind of dream...but a dream that is real. A dream that brings true joy and happiness. So neat.
The language is getting better! I am still struggling just as much, but my perspective has helped me be patient!
So in most of my letters I have recieved, everyone asked how I was and what the MTC was like, what I did daily. Although this could be a lengthy email about schedules and lessons, basically everything we do here at the MTC points to our purpose as missionaries. The MTC president had us memorize it our first week. It is:
Invite others to come unto Jesus Christ by helping them recieve the restored gospel through Faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, Repentance, Baptism, Recieving the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end.
Basically our purpose as missionaries and the Doctrine of Christ are one in the same. If you want to study it more (since every member is a missionary) you can in 3 Nephi 27:13-20!
This experience is so unique. I am trying to have a sacred mission. Don't get me wrong. I laugh a lot. I even play 4 Square with the Elders sometimes (Yes Sister Jaynes brings her A-Game) haha But at the end of the day...this work exceeds anything I have ever done. We watch past lectures on Sunday nights and so we watched Elder Holland's talk: Missions are Forever. Wow...if you thought Elder Holland was powerful in conference...wait until he talks to missionaries. So great. Basically he said missionary work was apostalic. Every minute of everyday we are trying to bring others to Christ - which is exactly what the Apostles do. As we truly are converted ourselves...the Lord's purpose in Moses 1:39 becomes "My work and glory..." we are one in the same with the Lord and the Apostles. This idea is very humbling and special to me.

I am so grateful for this opportunity to be here and to be a servant of the Lord. To help others come closer to our Savior. This ability to bring others to Christ is not just for missionaries, but for all those who believe in Christ. So be happy and know that you can bring others to Christ too. It will be a life-time goal...to bring others to Christ.
The Lord is hastening this work! We need to as well!

I close with the quote:
"You are the type of person you think the Savior is"

I love you all!!!! XoXo

Love, Sister Jaynes
